V55/5 boxes
What do I put in V55/5 box 7 model and full specification?
Reviewed 2026-07-10
Short answer
Put the model and enough full specification to identify the vehicle, using the wording from official registration or approval evidence where possible.
Official position
The V355/5 guidance says box 7 is model including full vehicle specification, with examples such as Fiesta Azura Auto, Corsa GLS 12V and 406 GLDT.
What to do
1
Use the model and specification shown on the foreign registration document, CoC or approval certificate.
2
Include meaningful trim, body or engine detail if it appears in the evidence.
3
Do not use auction shorthand, marketing claims or informal nicknames.
4
Keep body type, wheelplan, colour and fuel in their separate boxes.
Common mistakes
- Putting only a chassis code when the model evidence is clearer.
- Putting the body type in box 7 instead of box 8.
- Using a seller advert name that does not match the official documents.
