Send originals, keep copies

DVLA needs to see original documents and retains your foreign registration document permanently. Photocopy or scan everything before you post it.

NOVA comes first

For imports, HMRC must be told within 14 days of arrival. Your NOVA confirmation must be in the envelope — the details also need to match your V55/5.

Post it securely

You are sending irreplaceable originals. Use Royal Mail Signed For or Special Delivery so you have proof of delivery if you need to chase DVLA.
